Cross Campo Santo Stefano, a spacious square between St Mark's and the Accademia. Look at the Tommaseo monument, step into the Gothic church and pause at a cafe among the shops.

📖

Full description

Campo Santo Stefano is one of the biggest squares in Venice, sitting in the San Marco district between the St Mark's area and the Accademia bridge. It is lined with shops, restaurants and handsome buildings, and it includes the Gothic church of Santo Stefano, noted for its late Gothic portal and a distinctive wooden ship's keel roof, plus a monument to the 19th-century linguist Niccolò Tommaseo.

Reviewers describe it as a pleasant, busy place, though the surrounding streets are maze-like and often crowded. It is open at all hours and easy to pass through.

Beautiful Square with a monument This is a really nice square actually quite large for Venice between San Marco and the bridge of Accademia. Very nice full of shops & restaurants!
