This Notice explains how The Globe Map uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies on theglobemap.com (the iPhone app uses on-device storage for your session and settings only). A cookie is a small piece of data stored by a browser. Similar technologies can remember a session, store a preference, measure an interaction or enable third-party content.
These technologies provide a function you request or protect the Service, such as authentication, session continuity, fraud prevention, privacy choices and account security. They do not require consent where the applicable law provides a strict necessity exemption, but they are still described below.
These remember optional settings such as language, map display or interface choices. When they are not strictly necessary for a requested function, we use them only with consent where required.
These help measure use, errors and performance. The Globe Map measures its own usage with a first-party system that stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage (not a cookie), used only for anonymous audience and funnel statistics, never shared with third parties or used for advertising, and renewed at most every 13 months (see the table below and the Privacy Notice). It is switched off when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Any additional analytics or session-recording tool will be described here before it is used.
These may attribute a visit or booking to The Globe Map. GetYourGuide may use referral parameters and its own technologies after you follow a link to its service. The GetYourGuide booking widget and its analytics script load from GetYourGuide (the script on every page of the Site) and may set their own cookies or similar technologies under GetYourGuide's own notice.

Technical storage names may change when a provider updates its service. We periodically review the functioning Site and update this table when the purpose, provider or retention period changes materially.
At the date of this Notice, Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA are not active on The Globe Map; Vercel Web Analytics is active and does not use cookies. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, the sign-in page of that provider sets its own technologies under its own notice. The iPhone app does not use cookies for tracking.
The Site does not set advertising cookies of its own and does not display a cookie banner. You can delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent login or another requested function from working. To stop our anonymous usage measurement, enable Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Third-party content (the GetYourGuide booking widget, Mapbox maps) loads from its provider, which may set its own technologies under its own notice (see section 5).
A map, activity widget or other embedded component may allow its provider to receive your IP address and technical request data. Each provider's own notice applies to the technologies it uses.
Following an affiliate link takes you to an external site. GetYourGuide or Viator may use their own attribution technologies and determine their duration. Their cookie and privacy notices apply on their sites.
