Ponte dell'Accademia

Ponte dell'Accademia is one of the few bridges that cross the Grand Canal on foot, linking the Dorsoduro and San Marco sides next to the Gallerie dell'Accademia. It is open at all hours, and the elevated span gives wide views along the canal toward the domed church of Santa Maria della Salute.

It is popular with couples and photographers, especially around sunrise, sunset and after dark, when the light and the reduced foot traffic improve the experience. It takes only a few minutes to cross, and it fits naturally into a walk between Dorsoduro and the area around the Accademia.
