Ardittos Hill

4.6 ·

Climb Ardittos Hill, a quiet pine-covered rise above the Panathenaic Stadium. Follow shaded paths to the ancient tomb and pause at viewpoints facing the Acropolis and Lycabettus.

📖

Full description

Ardittos Hill rises above the marble Panathenaic Stadium, its slopes covered in pines and crossed by short paths leading to an ancient tomb. Visitors note it stays greener than nearby Philopappou Hill and offers vantage points toward the Acropolis and Lycabettus.

A free open-air gym is tucked into the park, a rarity in Athens. Part of the area is now incorporated into the stadium site and is no longer freely accessible, and the walk involves a number of steps.

A 30-minute visit suits a quiet viewpoint stop.

Reviews

This is now part of the stadium and not freely accessible anymore. The walk around is still worth it, but quite a few steps are involved.
