Athens National Garden

4.6 ·

Step into the National Garden, a leafy retreat tucked behind the Greek Parliament. Stroll shaded paths among native and exotic plants, spot archaeological remains, and take a quiet break from the city.

📖

Full description

The National Garden sits right behind the Greek Parliament, a sizeable green refuge in the centre of Athens with shaded paths, mature trees, native and exotic plants, and scattered archaeological remains. It also contains a children's library, and visitors describe it as a peaceful place to walk, run or rest away from the busy streets.

Free and open around the clock, it works equally well as a quick break between sights or a slower wander. Allow about an hour to cover the main paths.

Reviews

It's a wonderful garden just ahead of the Greek parliament building. It's a great place to be among the trees and to be able to rest and spend time in peace. It is a large garden and you can see many remains and artifacts in most places.
