St Mark's Campanile

4.7 ·

Rise above Piazza San Marco on the St Mark's Campanile. Ride the lift to the belfry and look out over rooftops, canals, and the lagoon from Venice's highest viewpoint.

📖

Full description

St Mark's Campanile is the bell tower of St Mark's Basilica and the tallest structure in Venice, topped by a golden angel. A lift carries visitors quickly to the belfry, where open arches frame panoramic views across the canals, red rooftops, the lagoon, and the islands beyond.

The tower stands in Piazza San Marco, so it combines easily with a visit to the square and neighbouring sights. Allow around forty-five minutes, including time in the queue and at the top.

Clear days give the longest sightlines, and the tower stays open into the evening.

Reviews

Part of St Marks Square, the tower was so special to see. It is replicated at WDW Epcot in the Italy World Showcase and now when we visit it has a special place for us because we can now say we were here with the original. We didn’t go up In the tower due to the crowds but it is a magnificent site to see and the whole…
