Walk into the Cloth Hall, the Renaissance centrepiece of Krakow's Main Square. Browse the market stalls below, then climb to the gallery of 19th-century Polish painting upstairs.

📖

Full description

MNK Sukiennice is the Cloth Hall in the middle of Krakow's Main Square, a Renaissance arcade with 13th-century origins. The ground floor still works as a market with stalls selling souvenirs and crafts, while the upper floor houses the National Museum's gallery of 19th-century Polish art.

Visitors enjoy the way the hall blends into the open square around it, which is touristy but spacious enough to feel comfortable. Allow roughly 75 minutes to browse the stalls and the gallery together.

The museum floor is closed on Mondays, while the market arcade remains the more casual part of a visit.

Reviews

The hall on the main square is absolutely breathtaking! Just like the surrounding cathedral. Krakow is one of the most beautiful Eastern European cities I’ve ever seen. The stunning architecture, vibrant market and amazing atmosphere make it an absolute must visit. Unforgettable place.
