Kunsthal Charlottenborg

4.3 ·

Step into Kunsthal Charlottenborg, a 1672 palace turned contemporary art space in Indre By. Walk through changing exhibitions, look out over the Nyhavn canal from the upper floor, and unwind in the courtyard bar.

📖

Full description

Kunsthal Charlottenborg occupies a palace dating from 1672 in the heart of Indre By and runs a rotating programme of contemporary art exhibitions, performances and concerts. Visitors describe changing shows, including graduate degree exhibitions and a display devoted to AI, and note that upper-floor windows frame a view of the Nyhavn canal.

The courtyard bar is a pleasant place to linger afterwards. It is a compact, low-effort stop that fits easily between other central sights.

Reviews

The gallery is fine - worth going on Wednesday after 5 PM when it’s free. I don’t think it would be worth going for the cost of admission. The courtyard bar is very nice.
