Wander the grounds of Vajdahunyad Castle, a fairytale pile on the City Park lake. Walk between towers and bridges and spot the different architectural styles blended into one site.

📖

Full description

Vajdahunyad Castle sits on a lake in City Park and was built in 1896 as a showcase of Hungarian architectural history, combining Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements in a single complex. Visitors can walk the grounds for free and photograph the towers and bridges against the water.

Reviewers call it the coolest-looking castle in the area, with a relaxed atmosphere and easy access from nearby metro and bus stops. It fits a longer stroll through City Park alongside the baths and other nearby sights, and works for a short visit or a longer wander.

Reviews

What a hidden gem!! The coolest looking castle in a huge area radius. Honestly a really great castle, free admission to the grounds. It has maxed out aura points, had a wonderful vibe all visit. 10/10, recommend this place if for nothing more than to admire the gorgeous architecture. Whilst you’re nearby, make sure to…
