Museum of Hungarian Agriculture

4.5 ·

Explore the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture, set in a baroque-style building in Budapest's XIV. district. Browse historic farming tools, hunting and fishing displays, then climb the tower for views over the surroundings.

📖

Full description

The Museum of Hungarian Agriculture in XIV. kerület occupies an Austrian baroque-style building and holds more than 200,000 historic agricultural tools and artifacts. Exhibits cover hunting, fishing, animal bones and structures, and some taxidermy, so interest in geology, farming history and wildlife helps.

Reviewers say the building is not in perfect condition and some displays lack a central showpiece, yet they enjoyed the informative tour. Climbing the roughly 150 steps up the tower is repeatedly described as worth it for the views.

It can get hot inside in summer.

Reviews

While the building is not in its best shape and some expositions lack a, impressive central piece, it is a nice museum for those interested in geogology, agriculture history, hunting, fishing, and hungarian horses. There was also a temporary nature photography exhibition which was quite impressive.
