Look up at the Corinthian columns of Saint-Jacques-sur-Coudenberg, a neoclassical church on the upper town's grand square. Study the portico, the statue of Godfrey of Bouillon and, if open, the paintings inside.

Full description

Saint-Jacques-sur-Coudenberg is a neoclassical church from the 18th century, recognisable by its grand colonnaded portico with large Corinthian columns and a bell tower. Visitors single out the frontage, and the interior features large-scale paintings and artefacts along the walls.

Outside, on the square, stands the statue of Godfrey of Bouillon, which reviewers find finely detailed. Opening is limited, with the church closed on Mondays and open only for a short window on Saturdays, so some visitors only see the exterior.

About 15 minutes covers the facade and, if open, the interior.
