French Cathedral

4.7 (2,867)$ · Budget-friendly

The Französischer Dom was built in the early 18th century for the French Huguenot community that Prussia had welcomed after fleeing religious persecution in France, and it stands as one half of a deliberately symmetrical pair with the Deutscher Dom across Gendarmenmarkt. Beyond the church itself, a small Huguenot museum inside traces that history, and a climb up the tower — a few hundred steps — leads to a viewing gallery with sweeping views over central Berlin, including a close-up look at the Konzerthaus's neoclassical façade between the two domes. With a 4.7 rating and reviewers praising both the architecture and helpful staff, it's a relatively affordable way to get above the city compared to other Berlin viewpoints. Budget around 45 minutes if you're doing the tower climb.

What people say

"We really enjoyed our trip to the french dome, beautiful architecture and the lady behind the counter was also super helpful. You should definitely bring some time with you as the Ascension of the stairs might take you a while. Definitely look into the available discounts since I am not sure it's worth the non-discounted price tag"
