RESTAURANT NAIROD

★ 4.5 (342)$$$$ · Premium

Restaurant Nairod stands out among Barcelona's premium tasting-menu options less for spectacle and more for hospitality, with reviewers noting the staff found room for walk-ins even on a full night and stayed patient with large or delayed groups. At 4.5 stars from 342 reviews, it carries a notably high hidden-gem score, suggesting it's well regarded by those who find it without matching the name recognition of the city's most famous Michelin rooms. Its balanced local and culture scores point to a restaurant that feels genuinely rooted in the neighbourhood rather than built for tourist traffic. It suits a relaxed lunch or afternoon meal for travellers who value flexibility and warm service.

✨ Reasons to go

  • 1The kitchen is led by self-made chef David Rustarazo, known as 'Rusti', who built his reputation through hands-on experience working abroad before opening his own place.
  • 2The restaurant holds a Michelin Guide selection and is noted locally for serving some of the best game dishes in Barcelona, including hare and pigeon, alongside a market-driven menu that changes with the seasons.
  • 3Its croquettes are made with a panko coating instead of standard breadcrumbs, giving them an unusually crisp shell around a meat-and-bĂŠchamel filling.

💡 Good to know

What people say

"A really cozy restaurant with super friendly staff. We arrived without a reservation and even though it was full, they still managed to make a table for us. (The hungarian waitress was really kind with us) We tried the sea urchin with tuna and hollandaise sauce, pâté de bonito with smoked sardine, peas and artichoke with tuna, raya with black butter sauce, red scorpion fish, paella, and two desserts, one was a cheese cream with meringue ice cream, and the other was like a warm chocolate mousse. My favorites were the pâté de bonito, the red scorpion fish with its perfectly crispy skin, and the paella, honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. But everything was delicious, to be fair. I would definitely come back."
