Technopolis occupies the old Gazi gasworks, whose brick chimneys and industrial halls now frame concerts, exhibitions, jazz festivals and private events. Entry to the grounds is free, and visitors describe an unusual mix of art, design and technical heritage where young and old share the open spaces.

The site also houses a museum devoted to the gas works' history. Around 90 minutes is enough to wander the grounds and catch an exhibition, though a festival evening easily runs longer.

It suits anyone who likes industrial architecture and a relaxed, creative atmosphere.
