Hunt for treasures at Waterlooplein, Amsterdam's famous flea market beside the metro station. Spend an hour sifting through secondhand finds and bargaining for the items that catch your eye.

📖

Full description

Waterlooplein is the area around the metro station in Amsterdam-Centrum that is famous for its flea market, where visitors search for secondhand treasures and haggle over small prices. Reviewers recommend it especially on a sunny day, describing a fun, treasure-hunt atmosphere.

The metro station itself is plain and, according to one visitor, can be tricky for step-free access with escalators mainly heading up to street level. Entry is free and an hour is usually enough to browse the stalls at a relaxed pace.

Reviews

I couldn't find the street level elevators which bothered me, as my mother has knee issues and all the escalators to street level were going up (which is not at all bad). A plain metro station, don't expect anything special.
