📖

Full description

The Wien Museum on Karlsplatz traces Vienna's history from Roman times to the present, with works by Klimt and Schiele among the highlights. Reviewers value the well-curated displays, original pieces and 3D models, and note that the permanent collection is free to visit.

Some find the exhibition design a little sparse, with empty spaces. The location is in one of the city's busiest tourist areas, and the museum is closed on Mondays.

Around an hour suits most visitors, and the museum works well at any time of day.
