Church of Saint Sebastian Veronese

4.6 ·

Step inside San Sebastiano, where Veronese painted much of the church himself. Look up and around at his colourful canvases, then rest your eyes on the quiet canals just outside.

📖

Full description

San Sebastiano is a modest-looking church from the 1500s whose interior is filled floor to ceiling with vivid works by Paolo Veronese, the Renaissance master who lies buried inside. Reviewers highlight the vibrant colours, the artist's early Venetian work in the sacristy, where photography is not allowed, and the picturesque surroundings of twisting canals and small bridges.

A small entrance fee applies, with a Chorus Pass option for those visiting several churches. Most visitors spend about 20 minutes inside.
