Santa Maria dei Carmini is a 14th-century Gothic-Renaissance church in the Dorsoduro district, notable for a long, narrow nave that feels spacious thanks to the absence of a transept. Along the upper walls, a series of sweeping friezes tell sacred stories, and the interior retains the quiet mood of a church that remains in active parish use.
It sits opposite the Scuola Grande dei Carmini on the campo of the same name, making the two natural companions. Entry carries a small fee per person, and a visit takes around fifteen minutes.
