Full description

The Royal Alcázar is a palace complex whose Mudéjar halls, patios and 16th-century tiles are among the finest in Spain, surrounded by terraced gardens with fountains, pavilions and shaded paths. Visitors move from the carved plasterwork and arches of the palace rooms out into the greenery, so the visit mixes architecture and outdoor strolling.

Reviewers praise the preservation and detail, and note that guided tours add helpful context. It is one of the city's headline attractions, so plan around 2.5 hours and book ahead, particularly in high season.

Reviews

Visited on a walking tour. Carlos our guide was excellent. Stunning architecture, mosaics and colours. Also gardens are spectacular. Skip the line tickets are a must in high season. Also bring water if visiting in June as temps in seville in summer are surface of the sun hot! Highly recommend.
