Jardines de Catalina de Ribera

4.8 ·

Slip into Jardines de Catalina de Ribera, a green pocket hugging the Alcázar walls. Wander the shaded paths, browse watercolours from local artists, and catch a guitarist or flamenco dancer if you're lucky.

📖

Full description

Jardines de Catalina de Ribera runs along the exterior of the Royal Alcázar and works as a green gateway into the historic centre. Reviewers describe it as a green oasis where artists sell watercolours and flamenco dancers and guitarists sometimes perform.

It is open around the clock and free, and a 30-minute stop is enough to enjoy the shade, the walls and the street-side atmosphere. Its high rating and strong aesthetic and couple appeal make it an easy pause between sights in Casco Antiguo.

Reviews

Nice gardens that border the Royal Alcazar and serve as an entrance to the old city. Some artists selling watercolors hang out here as well as flamenco dances and guitar players. There is also a large statue consisting of two columns and a lion which supposedly honors Cristopher Columbus.
