Built under Emperor Hadrian around 126 AD on the site of an earlier temple, the Pantheon has survived nearly two thousand years largely intact, in part because it was converted into a Christian church in the 7th century rather than left to decay. The oculus at the dome's center remains the building's only light source and, in effect, its only opening to the sky, admitting rain along with sunlight in a design still studied by engineers today.

With a perfect must-see, culture and aesthetic score, it's one of Rome's most efficient must-sees for the time invested.
