Waldstein Garden

4.8 ·

Wander into the Waldstein Garden, the formal baroque grounds of the Senate palace in Malá Strana. Follow green alleys past statues and fountains, circle the pond, and look out for the resident peacocks.

📖

Full description

The Waldstein Garden belongs to the 17th-century palace complex that now houses the Czech Senate, and it retains its formal baroque layout of green alleys, fountains, sculptures and an ornamental pond. Peacocks walk freely through the grounds, adding to the sense of a courtly garden preserved in the middle of Malá Strana.

It is free to enter and typically open to the public from April to October, making it an easy 30-minute stop. Visitors often pair it with a walk across Charles Bridge or a visit to Prague Castle, and reviewers praise its peaceful, well-kept atmosphere.

Reviews

We stayed on the Old Town side of the river and took a walk across Charles Bridge to visit the Gardens What a lovely peaceful place. Quite a bit to see, some buildings , the pond , the peacocks etc as well as plenty of space to sit and relax or to let the kids run around. It's free to enter and really worth a visit…
