📖

Full description

Vyšehrad Cemetery lies within the Vyšehrad grounds and has medieval origins, but it became the Czech national burial ground in the 19th century during the National Revival. Notable figures rest here, among them composers Smetana and Dvořák, and the 19th-century Slavín tomb honours renowned artists and musicians.

A list of those buried is displayed at the entrance, helping visitors seek out famous graves among the carved gravestones. Free to enter, it is a peaceful 45-minute stroll that pairs naturally with the fortress above.
