St. Nicholas Church (Malá Strana)

4.7 ·

Explore St Nicholas Church, the Baroque landmark of Malá Strana. Look up at the vast dome, the frescoes and the chandeliers, then relax in the square outside.

📖

Full description

St Nicholas Church in Malá Strana is one of the best-known examples of high Baroque architecture in Prague, built across the 17th and 18th centuries. Its large dome, around 20 metres across, caps an interior of frescoes, gold accents and massive chandeliers.

It faces Malostranské náměstí, a square that reviewers find calmer than the Old Town Square, lined with historic buildings and cafés. Some visitors feel the admission price is steep for the time spent inside, so plan for roughly 45 minutes and treat it as part of a wider Malá Strana walk.

Reviews

This church site is built of an older Gothic and considered the gem of Prague It can host a concert inside the church I didn’t go through the inside as there is an entrance fee. But the lobby have a nice altar (i guess) Exterior itself is stunning. The Prague Visitor Pass is not included in this site tour
