Church of Our Lady Victorious and The Infant Jesus of Prague

4.7 ·

Slip into the Church of Our Lady Victorious, the Malá Strana home of the Infant Jesus of Prague. Take in the lavish baroque interior and see the small, much-venerated statue at its heart.

📖

Full description

Hidden among the streets of Malá Strana, this church was completed in 1613 and later rebuilt by the Carmelite order. From the outside it is modest, but the interior is opulent and theatrical in true baroque style.

It is best known as the home of the Infant Jesus of Prague, a small statue of the child Jesus venerated by pilgrims from around the world. Entry is free, visits typically take about 30 minutes, and many visitors describe it as a quiet refuge away from the busier tourist streets nearby, still very much used for prayer.
