Miragaia

Miragaia is a historic quarter running along the Douro between the centre and the western riverside. Its narrow streets, old facades and proximity to the water give it a quieter, more atmospheric feel than neighbouring Ribeira, while still carrying real cultural weight within Porto's World Heritage setting.

It suits couples and culture-minded walkers who want old-town character without the densest crowds. A walk of around an hour covers its main lanes and riverfront stretches, and it connects easily on foot to Ribeira and the surrounding historic districts.
