Museum of Illusions Paris

4.0 (24,455)$$ · Mid-range

Museum of Illusions Paris fills several floors near Les Halles with hands-on optical illusions, tilted rooms, and perspective tricks designed for photos as much as genuine puzzlement. It's popular with families and groups, though some reviewers note it can feel crowded and warm during busy periods, and pricing has drawn mixed opinions relative to the size of the museum.

💡 Good to know

  • 1Go earlier in the day to avoid the biggest crowds and heat buildup
  • 2bring a phone or camera, most rooms are designed for photos
  • 3manage expectations on size, it's a fairly compact museum for the price.

What people say

"Disappointing experience…stifling heat and overpriced for what it is. We came here hoping to escape the heat, but the museum has no air conditioning until the very end of the bottom floor. Between the small layout and the crowds, it got extremely hot, crowded, and uncomfortable very fast. You can easily walk through the entire place in 30 to 40 minutes. You can get a few good photos, but even those are spoiled by the museum's logo plastered all over every backdrop, making them look like advertised promo photos rather than real pictures. Not worth the visit on a hot day."
