Stand in Königsplatz, where columned neoclassical buildings enclose a wide, open square. Take in the architecture from the steps, then head into the museums if sculpture and antiquities interest you.

📖

Full description

Königsplatz is a large open square surrounded by neoclassical buildings, including a museum of antiquities and the Glyptothek, which holds ancient sculpture. Reviewers describe people relaxing on the steps and note that parts of the square are fenced off in summer for concerts and events, including a family festival with live music and activities for children.

It is open around the clock and free, and a visit of about 20 minutes covers the square and its architecture. Visitors interested in sculpture will want to continue into the adjacent museums.

Reviews

Beautiful square, people chilling on steps and around area. It must be used for concerts ect as parts are fenced off and a large stage with rigging appears to be a summer time thang.
