Ca' Granda

4.6 ·

Wander through Ca' Granda, a 15th-century hospital turned university campus near central Milan. Stroll the large courtyard and cloisters and peek into the chapel for a quiet architectural stop.

📖

Full description

Ca' Granda was built in the 15th century as Milan's main hospital and today houses departments of the University of Milan, including law. Visitors can enter freely to see its courtyards, cloisters and the university chapel, which reviewers call striking.

The setting feels like a calm campus close to the city centre and to several historic churches, with lawns and arcades suited to a short wander. A visit takes about 15 minutes, and the grounds are accessible around the clock, though university activity can affect what is open inside.

Reviews

Its very beautiful umiversity building with strong hustoric roots. Closer to main Milan centre and number of historic churches are around it. Known for its law education. Lawns and rooms are very mesmerising. It was international open day when we visited, everyone was able to understand English well.
