📖

Full description

The National Museum of Decorative Arts spreads across several floors and more than 60 rooms, displaying pottery, glassware, silverware, furniture and paintings once found in well-to-do households. Many works date from the 16th and 17th centuries, and reviewers note that the old-fashioned way the rooms are laid out adds to the sense of stepping back in time.

Ceramics lovers are especially well served, and a mix of historical interiors with some more conceptual pieces keeps the visit varied. It suits a quiet, solo-paced hour in the Retiro area, and the budget-friendly entry makes it an easy add-on to a museum day.

Reviews

This is the spot if you like modern art or ceramics and old gentlemen house interior. It’s a perfect thing to do if you want a mix of history and new conceptual art. There was also a good collection of Bauhaus and some famous names likes Behrens, rietveld, etc. Dont miss this if you like musea and interior
