Pause at the Bank of Spain, the commanding landmark on Plaza de Cibeles. Admire its monumental facade from the street as part of a stroll along Alcalá and the Paseo del Prado.

📖

Full description

Standing at the junction of Calle de Alcalá and Paseo del Prado beside Plaza de Cibeles, the Bank of Spain is one of the most imposing institutional buildings in central Madrid. Its grand facade reflects the weight of Spanish finance, and it anchors one of the city's busiest and most photographed intersections.

Interiors and the art collection can be seen by appointment, but most visitors simply take in the exterior as part of a walk through the Cibeles and Gran Vía area. It makes a brief, free stop between larger sights.
