Grand Bazaar

4.4 ·

Lose yourself in the Grand Bazaar, Istanbul's vast covered market of winding indoor streets. Haggle for leather, jewellery, ceramics and gifts while soaking up the atmosphere of one of the world's oldest markets.

📖

Full description

The Grand Bazaar is a historic covered market in Istanbul made up of dozens of streets and thousands of shops selling leather goods, jewellery, textiles, ceramics and souvenirs. It is large enough that visitors easily lose their bearings, so reviewers suggest noting landmarks and expecting to wander.

Haggling is standard, with reviewers advising to counter at about half the first price, though some fixed-price shops exist for those who prefer to avoid it. The interior is fully covered and well lit.

Allow around two hours to take it in.

Reviews

This place is insane! I don’t know how anyone can find their way back to a particular stall. Make sure you haggle. Whatever they tell you it cost come back with half the price. Got a fantastic top-notch fake Gucci bag and jewelry. Very happy and the sellers were so much fun.
