House of Dante

3.9 ·

Step into the House of Dante, built on the site of the poet's birthplace in medieval Florence. Follow his life and the city of his era through exhibits and interactive screens before exploring the surrounding old streets.

📖

Full description

The House of Dante stands on the site associated with Dante Alighieri's birthplace, in the medieval heart of Florence. Its exhibits cover the poet's life, the city of his day and the world of the Divine Comedy, with a good share of the material delivered through interactive touch screens.

Reviewers are divided: some value the introduction to Dante and his period, while others find the content thin and the interactive elements uneven for the entry fee. It suits visitors with a particular interest in Dante, and about 45 minutes covers it.

Reviews

It's a virtual Museum,I don't think it's worth the €8 entrance fee. The church is much more interesting and is free.Hang around outside, visit the church and spend the €8 to get a sandwich with Trippa e Lampredotto Da Vinattieri
