Attached to the church of San Lorenzo, the Medici Chapels combine the ornate Chapel of the Princes with Michelangelo's New Sacristy, where his figures of Dawn, Dusk, Night and Day rest on the tombs of Medici dukes. The exterior and ground floor feel plain, which makes the climb into the main chapel more striking.
