Stroll along The Lakes, Copenhagen's chain of artificial lakes at the edge of the city centre. Follow the shoreline paths with joggers and cyclists, pausing on a bench to watch the water.

📖

Full description

The Lakes are a series of artificial, rectangular lakes running through the central and northern parts of Copenhagen, edged by paths and plenty of benches. Locals use the shoreline for walking, running and cycling, and on sunny days it fills with joggers, couples on benches and parents with strollers.

Reviewers describe well-kept trails and a peaceful atmosphere that suits an easy stroll. Free and open at all hours, a one-hour walk gives a feel for everyday city life, with lovely light around sunrise and in the evening.
