Palmehuset

4.5 ·

Step into Palmehuset, the glass palm house of Copenhagen's botanical garden, where the air turns warm and tropical. Climb to the upper gallery to look down on the palms, then look for butterflies.

📖

Full description

Palmehuset is the large glass greenhouse within Copenhagen's botanical garden, filled with tropical palms in a warm, humid climate. Visitors can climb a staircase to a second-level gallery to look down over the palm crowns, and the quick change in temperature and humidity is a talking point.

A butterfly area adds interest, and reviewers find the entrance fee worthwhile and cheap enough for a short stop. It is closed on Mondays and open in the daytime, making it a good 60-minute visit, particularly in winter when the warmth is a welcome contrast to the cold outside.

Reviews

A great part of the botanical garden, definitely worth the entrance fee. You can climb up to a second level of the main room, and it’s really cool to feel the temperature and humidity change so fast. Half of the palm house was under construction so we couldn’t see the aquatic and wetlands plants, but everything we saw…
