Wander into The King's Garden, Copenhagen's oldest royal park right beside Rosenborg Castle. Follow tree-lined paths past flower beds and pavilions, then settle on a lawn in the heart of the city.

📖

Full description

The King's Garden, or Kongens Have, is a formal park in the centre of Copenhagen established in the 17th century, surrounding Rosenborg Castle. Reviewers call it their favourite garden in the city, praising its easy access on foot from Nørreport, large green lawns, flower beds and well-kept grounds.

Tree-lined paths and pavilions give it a structured, elegant feel, and it is a natural pause after visiting the castle. Entry is free, and it is open from about 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., so a 45-minute stroll or a picnic on the lawn fits easily into a day of sightseeing.
