The Hill House Museum

4.3 ·

Climb the little hill to The Hill House Museum, Frederiksberg's oldest house and a former meeting place of Danish thinkers. Step through rooms restored to the 1820s, then relax in the garden.

📖

Full description

Bakkehuset, whose name means the house on the hill, dates from the 17th century and is the oldest house in Frederiksberg. It has been restored to its 1820s decor and was once the home of an author and his wife, becoming a gathering place for the leading intellectual lights of the era.

Today it works as a small museum with events and a garden. Reviewers note that the garden is free and pleasant, while the interior is a modest, period-focused visit of around 45 minutes, best for those drawn to literary and domestic history.

Reviews

Garden is very nice and it's free. The museum interior costs money and doesn't have anything interesting
