Visit Langelinieparken, a harbourside park where Japanese cherry trees turn the grounds soft pink each spring. Stroll past statues under the blossoms, ideally during the annual Sakura festival.

📖

Full description

Langelinieparken is a short, easy waterfront park in the Indre By area, open at all hours and free to enter. Its best-known feature is a collection of cherry trees donated from Japan, which bloom in spring and are celebrated with a Sakura festival each year.

Visitors describe a blanket of pale pink petals even when the weather is grey, alongside numerous statues scattered through the grounds. With a typical visit of around 30 minutes and low walking effort, it works as a quick, photogenic stop, best timed for blossom season in April.

Reviews

Visited on 21 Apr 2026 and we were surprisingly happy to see the cherry blossoms (sakura) in their full bloom. The light pink was blanketing over the park. One of the most beautiful moments in our European trip indeed.
