Breakfast
Café am Engelbecken owes much of its charm to its setting, overlooking a small lake that reviewers describe as a peaceful surprise tucked into Berlin's more urban surroundings, complete with soft afternoon light and, in winter, a frozen surface. The two-person sharing plate — a generous spread of cheese, salami, and fruit — is a popular order for a leisurely visit rather than a quick bite. A 4.1 rating and the highest aesthetic score among Berlin spots in this batch reflect a setting valued more for atmosphere than culinary ambition. No reservation is required, and it fits a slow, scenic breakfast or lunch.

What people say
"This cafe is very nice, with a beautiful water view. The food is ok, we had the 2 person plate, it was huge, with a variety of cheese, sliced salami and fruits. The coffee is good and we also ordered a piece of cheese pie…just to try out. It was good but I had better pie😀. The service was ok, the girl was very busy maybe she was tired, because we had to wait a lot for her to clean the table after we ate. We went in the morning, just when the have opened the place and already the place started to get busy. The view it’s really amazing and the little ducks are very cute."
