Bergmannkiez

Bergmannkiez is the calmer, more gentrified southern half of Kreuzberg, built around Bergmannstraße, a pedestrian-friendly street packed with antique shops, secondhand bookstores, cafés, and organic grocers. It borders the atmospheric Alter St.-Matthäus-Kirchhof cemetery, where the Brothers Grimm are buried, and Viktoriapark, a hilly green space with Berlin's only real waterfall and good skyline views. The neighborhood has a settled, almost small-town feel that contrasts with the grittier nightlife of Kreuzberg 36 to the north, making it popular with families and long-term residents. It's an easy, pleasant walk from the Jewish Museum and connects naturally to the rest of Kreuzberg.
