Full description

The Museum of Ancient Greek Technology Kotsanas displays reconstructed machines from ancient Greece, many of which visitors are encouraged to touch and operate. Staff are attentive and quick to explain how each device works, and the displays lean on theory and physics, showing technologies whose principles we are still refining today.

Reviewers value its smaller, more intimate scale compared with other Athens attractions and call it a highlight for curious adults and children alike, even rating it alongside the Hellenic Motor Museum. Guided tours are available, and an hour is enough for a satisfying visit.

Reviews

Wow! Absolutely brilliant museum. Incredibly interesting displays showcasing facets of Ancient Greece not covered by any other museum we visited. Plenty of staff, who were always quick to jump in and give demonstrations or explanations whenever we stopped to marvel at something more closely. 10/10 a true gem in Athens.
