Drop into Giardini della Marinaressa, a small pine-shaded garden on the lagoon edge. Browse the rotating modern sculptures and sit on a bench with the water beside you.

📖

Full description

Giardini della Marinaressa is a small garden on the Riva dei Sette Martiri, running beside the lagoon between the Arsenale and the Biennale gardens. Pine trees shade the path, and the grounds host a changing programme of modern sculpture, with benches placed for looking at the works.

Reviewers call it tiny but beautiful and well kept, a quiet interval on the long waterfront walk. It is best treated as a short stop of about 20 minutes rather than a full outing, ideally paired with a wander along the fondamenta.

Reviews

By reading some of the reviews one may think you found a mini Versailles with a replica of Chillida-Leku inside 😅. It’s a tiny garden. So small it barely live up to its name. It’s beautiful. Well kept up. Interesting sculptures in display. Not crowded which is a plus.
