📖

Full description

Santa Maria Assunta, known as the Gesuiti, is a baroque church whose interior is among the most lavish in Venice. Reviewers call it one of the most magnificent churches in the city and note the striking contrast between the entrance wall and the rest of the building.

A small contribution of about one euro goes toward restoration work, which has left parts of the church under restoration at times. Opening hours are split into morning and late afternoon sessions, and a visit takes around 20 minutes.

Reviews

The entrance fee is just 1 euro per person, and the money goes towards the restoration of the church (it is indeed currently undergoing partial restoration). I’d recommend a visit – it’s absolutely lovely!
