Food
Trattoria Sora Lella occupies a storied spot on the little Tiber island, carrying the name and legacy of the actress and cook who built its reputation for genuine Roman home cooking. Expect the classics — supplì, tonnarelli alla carbonara, coda alla vaccinara — served in a dining room that trades on decades of history rather than trend-chasing. Its very high must-see and culture scores reflect that landmark status, though at 4.1 stars over more than 4,100 reviews, service can be inconsistent when the room gets busy. It suits diners after an authentic, slightly old-school Roman meal with a story attached rather than a cutting-edge experience.

What people say
"A superb lunch with Roman friends at Sora Lella on the Isola Tiberina included excellent suppli; tonnarelli with their own carbonara of salsiccia, walnut, pancetta, egg +13 secret ingredients (a house specialty since 1961); and grilled lamb “alla scottadito” (meaning “burnt fingers” because you hold the hot bones with your fingers to eat them); very good Roman artichokes and puntarelle too. Hazelnut gelato to finish. Great ambience, wine list and service."
