Dar Poeta

4.3 (9,806)$$ · Mid-range

Dar Poeta has built its reputation over many years in the narrow lanes of Trastevere, and its very high must-see score alongside a low hidden-gem score confirms it as a widely known, frequently repeated stop rather than an undiscovered find. The pizza uses a distinctive slow-risen dough that reviewers describe as exceptional even after multiple visits over a decade, served in a simple, convivial room. With 4.3 stars across nearly 9,800 reviews, expectations run high going in, and most reviewers say it holds up despite the hype. It suits a casual, unhurried pizza dinner in one of Rome's most atmospheric neighborhoods.

What people say

"Whenever I visit Rome I try to make time for a dinner here and oh boy, 10 years since my first visit and it's as good now as then. The pizzas are exceptional, and the starters are great. I'd go as far as saying as this is THE best pizza in Rome when accounting for price. A down to earth-restaurant serving good food in a classical Italian environment in the middle of cozy Trastevere. Just a great place, deserving of a rare 5/5."
