Taverna Trilussa

β˜… 4.4 (3,577)$$$ Β· Expensive

Taverna Trilussa sits in Trastevere and pitches itself toward a slightly more formal experience than the neighborhood's typical trattorias, with reviewers noting genuinely high prices alongside strong service and atmosphere. Fried sweetbreads appear on the menu, though at least one reviewer found the frying technique dulled the texture compared to a braised version, suggesting some inconsistency in execution of the more adventurous dishes. Reviewers do praise the chance to eat authentic Roman food in a properly done-up setting, along with a solid wine list, at 4.4 stars over 3,577 reviews. It suits diners wanting a dressier take on classic Roman cuisine and willing to pay for the polish.

What people say

"Very fancy and high prices, but great service and atmosphere. Fried Sweetbreads were good. Frying seemed to dull the texture. I'd rather have them braised in demi-glaze. The cured meat sampler platter was excellent. House special ravioli was ok, expected more from the specialty. Tagliatelle was good, served in the pan in which it was cooked. Reservations are definitely needed; we got lucky and they let us in as they opened. Great recommendation from Rick Steves"
