Vinohrady

Stroll through Vinohrady, the refined district of Art Nouveau townhouses and tree-lined avenues east of the centre. Linger in a café near Náměstí Míru, then climb to the terraced gardens or Riegrovy sady for views over the rooftops.

📖

Full description

Vinohrady is one of Prague's most pleasant neighbourhoods for an unhurried walk, built largely in the late 19th century with handsome tenement buildings and leafy avenues. Náměstí Míru, with its imposing church and theatre, anchors the area, while nearby streets hold cafés, wine bars and restaurants popular with locals.

Wine heritage is part of the story, and the terraced Havlíček Gardens preserve a hillside of vines and a small grotto. The atmosphere is stylish yet residential, good for lingering over coffee or an early evening drink.
