Jerusalem Synagogue | Prague

4.6 ·

Discover the Jerusalem Synagogue, a Moorish and Art Nouveau jewel away from the main tourist trail. Admire the patterned facade, then enter the ornate hall and the exhibition on the upper balcony.

📖

Full description

The Jerusalem Synagogue, also called the Jubilee Synagogue, was built in the early 20th century and blends Art Nouveau with Moorish design elements, giving it a bright, patterned facade unlike the older synagogues in the Jewish Quarter. Inside, visitors describe an ornate prayer hall and an upper-balcony exhibition on Jewish history in Prague and wider themes of human cruelty and humanity.

Rotating displays, such as a quilt exhibit, have also been on show. It is closed on Saturdays.

Reviews

Beautiful art nouveau style synagogue, one of the crown jewels of Prague. There was a stunning patchwork quilt exhibit with synagogue windows theme and a photo exhibit of Jewish history in Prague and Bohemia region when I visited. Jerusalem Synagogue looks beautiful from the outside also. There's a small ticket fee…
