Dancing House

4.3 ·

See the Dancing House, Frank Gehry's twisting riverside landmark in Nové Město. Photograph its curving facade from the embankment, then head to the rooftop for a drink and views across the city.

📖

Full description

The Dancing House in Nové Město is a curving modern building designed by architect Frank Gehry, its two sections twisting together to suggest a dancing pair. It stands on the embankment among much older architecture, which is part of its appeal for visitors interested in contemporary design.

The building now operates mainly as a hotel, with a restaurant and café, and the rooftop is a popular spot for a drink at sunset, though it can get busy and may involve a wait. Some visitors find it smaller than expected up close.

Viewing the exterior is free and takes about 20 minutes.

Reviews

Nice place to have a drink, on the rooftop, be careful it might be some people so you'll have to wait, depending the daytime. Perfect for sunset. Staff very kind. Place should be quite busy, if you don't take a drink you have to pay the terrace access (150 czk)
